Complex zero decreasing sequences

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the real sequences 70,71, 72,... with the property that if p(x) = 53fc=o a k xk is an y rea l polynomial, then Ylk=o^k a k xk has no more nonreal zeros than p(x). In particular, the authors establish a converse to a classical theorem of Laguerre.
