Abstract

Our results suggest recent transmission of MDR-TB, mainly in HIV-positive patients, in Lisbon hospitals. Moreover, the predominant MDR-TB clustered strains were not confined to HIV-infected individuals, as they were also isolated in some immunocompetent patients.
