Wirsing's Conjecture
Wirsing's Conjecture is a mathematical conjecture in the field of Diophantine Approximation that proposes a lower bound on the approximation of algebraic numbers by rational numbers, specifically asserting that for any algebraic number ξ of degree d ≥ 2, there exists a positive constant c(ξ) such that the inequality |ξ − p/q| < c(ξ)/q²⁺⁽¹ᵈ⁻¹⁾ has only finitely many solutions in rational numbers p/q.
