Air mobility noise is a research field dedicated to the systematic investigation of the acoustic characteristics, propagation, and human perception of sound generated by emerging air mobility systems, specifically Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft and their associated infrastructure like vertiports. This field encompasses the development of measurement methodologies, psychoacoustic testing, and modeling to understand and mitigate the environmental and societal impacts of noise from novel aircraft operations, supporting the establishment of regulatory frameworks and public acceptance.
