21:T4c3,The main-group metals characterized by closed d shells are generally regarded as catalytically inert for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) due to the delocalized valence orbitals. Modulating the coordination environment of metal sites is critical to gaining highly active electrocatalysts for ORR. Herein, atomically dispersed Sb site catalysts were successfully constructed with SbN₄-Cl configuration for highly efficient ORR. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations reveal that the introduction of an axial Cl ligand regulates the p electron structure of the Sb active center, thereby alleviating the binding energy of the HO* intermediate and lowering the energy barrier of the ORR process. Remarkably, the as-prepared SbN₄Cl/NC catalysts exhibited excellent ORR activity with a half-wave potential (E_1/2) of 0.921 V and exceptional durability, superior to most 3d transition-metal-based single-atom catalysts and commercial Pt/C. Moreover, Zn-air battery tests also verified the outstanding discharge performance and ultralong charge/discharge durability of SbN₄Cl/NC catalysts, demonstrating significant promise for energy storage and conversion applications.22:T422,With advancements in the study of catalysts at atomic sites, the unique and predictable characteristics of atomic models have enabled the exploration of catalysts with monoatomic, diatomic, and polymetallic centers. In this study, a platinum-copper-zinc trimetallic catalyst (named PtCuZn/SNC) was synthesized by the spatial confinement method and polymer coating method. This triatomic catalyst facilitates electronic interaction and charge redistribution among the three metal atoms, optimizing the adsorption and desorption of reaction intermediates and thereby exhibiting excellent performance in acidic oxygen reduction reactions. In the oxygen reduction reaction test, a high half-wave potential of 0.859 V and an impressive energy density of 532 mW cm^-2 were achieved in fuel cell tests, demonstrating the outstanding catalytic performance of the catalyst. Dual-atomic catalysts offer valuable solutions due to their exceptional performance. This work explores the application of axial Cl-coordinated Pt─Co dual atoms on N-doped graphitic carbon (Pt₁Co₁/NC─Cl) catalysts utilizing PtCo dual-atomic catalysts, demonstrating their ability to significantly enhance the acidic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalytic performance of conventional PtCo catalysts. The half-wave potential (E_1/2) reaches 0.841 V in a 0.1 M HClO₄ solution, and only a reduction of 12 mV in E_1/2 is observed after 5000 cycles. Axial Cl proves to be resistant to removal during the electroreduction reaction. Consequently, the use of heteroatom-modulated asymmetric structures can greatly improve the performance of Pt-based catalysts. Incorporating nonmetallic synergistic Pt-group metals presents a promising solution for achieving high-performance Low-PGMs.
