: Colon adenomas with mild-to-intermediate (70%) and severe (30%) dysplasia showed a progressive depletion of sialomucins (alcian blue +) and an increased proliferative activity (Mib1+). A topografic correlation between the two findings was elicited. DNA aneuploidy was observed in a significant number of adenomas which were marked by the sialomucin depletion.
